A few other notes:
- Everyone in my family agrees that my grandmother needs to go into assisted living except my grandmother. For the first time ever, I sat down with her and told her what she should do. That was hard. I just pray that some of it sinks in.
- My uncle is very, very sick with cancer. He is facing a six or eight week routine of chemo and then surgery.
- The award from my peers at work is great, but pales in importance to the two points above, but thanks anyway.

My Grandma wanted to die in her home. I made sure she did but she had enough money to pay for 24 hour care when it became too much for me.
it is heartbreaking, very sad to deal with. I just ended 8 years of my life doing it.

Maybe if you didn't spend so much time hyping poker you could spend some time with your grandmother. Putting anyone in a nursing home is the ultimate version of selling them down the river. It is kind of sad that anyone can coldly dispose of their own relatives.
Spider63 is a moron and obviously knows nothing about assisted care or nursing homes! They are filled with wonderful people who care and very interesting and knowlegable seniors. Maybe Spider63 should quit kvetching and VOLUNTEER!!
When did I say that I don't spend time with my grandmother? Because of the location, I would be able to spend more time with her if she were in assisted living. Angry people like spider63 have their own issues. They don't bother me.
